Not quiet at all
I bought two units of this specific model. The one, at the beginning was making some noises but with some adjustments on the way it was installed it was fixed. Being very happy with my first purchase, I decided to buy a second one. Well...that unit was a different story. It is not quiet at all. It seems that the water is trapped inside the unit and that creates a very annoying sound. I tried to make the same adjustments as with my first unit...but nothing worked. The unit works...it produces cold air...but...not in a tranquil way! Unfortunately the Open box units are not refundable or returnable. So...I have come to learn...that it is a gamble!

The good and the bad
I bought a refurbished model and it arrived in decent shape but not mechanically sound. It had a loud vibration regardless of how tight it was in the window. I contacted them and the customer service was awesome and very fast! They sent another refurbished unit out ASAP to replace the non working one! Unfortunately the second unit was either badly damaged in shipping or wasnt in such good shape when they sent it out. Either way the unit was able to be installed but it is just as loud. They tried and they get some stars for responsiveness and communication, but lost a couple of stars as the AC I received will eventually get replaced with one not so defunct. I will put up with the noise for now as the AC function works great to cool the room when I'm not in it. It seems it would be a wonderful AC if it hadnt been damaged and the loud vibration wasn't there. It's very sleek. I will look at their products in the future but perhaps will avoid the refurbished items.
